Statement on centralized governance and compliance
The POSX Management Team sets out its position on centralized governance, real-world payment applications, and cooperation with financial regulators and law enforcement.
Our purpose
POSX is committed to connecting digital payments with real-world consumption and exploring ways to support the practical use of regulated stablecoins by merchants, consumers and institutions. To serve this mission, POSX expressly maintains a centralized governance model, with regulatory compliance and clearly assigned management responsibility at its foundation.
We continue to follow the development of regulated Hong Kong dollar stablecoins, as well as exploration of e-HKD and other central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). Subject to applicable laws and relevant access requirements, POSX seeks to explore cooperation with relevant institutions to support the use of digital money in real-world commerce.
Governance and contract management
We recognize the value of decentralized technology in appropriate settings. For POSX’s chosen payment and consumption applications, however, relinquishing all management authority and operating without an accountable entity or effective risk-response mechanisms would not meet the needs of long-term cooperation with merchants, banks, payment institutions and relevant government departments. Retaining necessary governance capabilities enables us to take responsibility, respond to risks and build a foundation for compliant applications.
The POSX token will therefore retain its centrally managed proxy-contract architecture and necessary management and upgrade permissions. We do not accept relinquishing permissions, removing upgrade capabilities or achieving full decentralization as prerequisites for assessing the suitability of POSX’s contracts or governance arrangements, and will not change our established direction to meet such demands.
Financial integrity and lawful cooperation
POSX does not permit any party to use the POSX token, related payment services or ecosystem activities for money laundering, fraud, illegal fundraising or other unlawful conduct. We oppose the use of “decentralization” as a justification for evading applicable laws, regulatory obligations or responsibility.
Where indications of suspected unlawful conduct are identified, POSX will preserve relevant materials in accordance with law and cooperate with financial regulators, law enforcement and judicial authorities having jurisdiction in their investigations and evidence gathering. For matters within U.S. jurisdiction, POSX will report to and assist the relevant U.S. authorities through appropriate lawful channels. Such cooperation will be based on specific conduct, facts and evidence.
Our long-term direction
POSX will continue to pursue business cooperation with banks, payment institutions and other partners, and strengthen lawful communication with relevant government departments, financial regulators and law enforcement. This direction is intended to build a foundation for legitimate commerce, including U.S.–China trade, consumer payments and the company’s future lawful access to capital markets.
Advancing real-world applications, maintaining centralized governance and fulfilling compliance responsibilities are POSX’s clear commitments in pursuing its long-term mission.
